MICKI DICKOFF

Emmy Award winning director Micki Dickoff has been an independent filmmaker and social activist for more than 30 years.  Her independent production company, Pro Bono Productions, develops and produces socially significant narrative and documentary films.  Micki passionately believes in the power of film to touch hearts, change attitudes and foster positive social change.  Her documentary and dramatic films have dealt with such issues as AIDS, human rights, poverty, and the justice system, and have been broadcast on PBS, ABC, Bravo, Lifetime, Court TV, the Women’s Television Network in Canada, Channel 4 in London and on the BBC.  Her work has been screened and honored at film festivals around the world.

Micki’s directing, writing and producing credits include the award-winning documentaries “Neshoba,” about justice and racial reconciliation, “Step By Step” and “Bush’s Deadly Ambition” about the justice system and death penalty, and “Too Little, Too Late” about AIDS and families, for which she won an Emmy.  Her narrative films include directing and producing “In the Blink of an Eye,” an ABC television movie starring Mimi Rogers and Veronica Hamel based on Micki’s own story about a wrongly convicted childhood friend, and the multi-award winning short feature, “Mother, Mother” starring Bess Armstrong, Polly Bergen , Piper Laurie and John Dye.  Made through the generosity of the Hollywood community, “Mother, Mother” raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight AIDS.  The film won a Cine Gold Eagle, a Gold Hugo, the Film Advisory Board’s Award of Excellence, and Best Short Feature at the American Film Festival.  Micki also co-produced “Our Sons,” an ABC television movie starring Julie Andrews, Ann-Margret and Hugh Grant.  The Peabody Award-winning MOW was based on Micki’s award-winning AIDS documentary, “Too Little, Too Late.”

Micki received a fellowship from the Directors Guild of America and was selected to participate in the Directing Workshop for Women at the American Film Institute.  She was honored as an Alumna of Outstanding Achievement from the University of Florida and an Alumna of Distinction from UF’s College of Journalism and Communications where she earned her MA in Film.  The Tahoe International Film Festival presented their Pinnacle Award of Excellence to Micki for her body of work.

TONY PAGANO

Tony Pagano makes his feature directorial debut on Neshoba.  With a career spanning 32 years in the commercial and network broadcast industry, Tony spent 17 years at the ABC News Magazine 20/20, first as an editor, then location audio, and finally as their leading Director of Photography.  Tony currently owns and operates his independent production company, Pagano Productions.

Tony has collaborated on and filmed numerous productions that have received national Emmy, DuPont and Peabody awards, along with The New York Festivals World Medal for International Television.  In addition, he has had the honor of filming five U.S. presidents, as well as dignitaries, movie stars, and professional athletes.  Tony’s favorite work is traveling the world filming the stories of everyday people.  Often, he has donated his services by documenting conditions of the least fortunate for Save The Children, a non-profit organization, to assist in fund raising.
